The main tool we use for reading and writing to vehicles Via the diagnostic socket is a Kess V2 which Is designed and manufactured by Alientech. This tool has a vast range of vehicles it will read and write over the diagnostic socket. Some manufactures the tool with correctly ID the ECU within a vehicle and it will automatically download the matching original file that Is on the ECU. This is needed in some cases where TPROT (Tuning protection for diagnostic socket write) has been enabled. The file downloaded has already been patched to enable writing over the diagnostic socket so TPROT does not activate.

The Kess V2 is an advanced too which will automatically correct the checksum. The tool is also made in such a way that if by accident the tool loses communication to the PC it is connected it, it will continue to write the file over the diagnostic socket until it is complete reducing the risk of damaged ECU’s. Another advanced function of the tool is it has a recovery feature will in most cases will resurrect the ECU in case of failed writing. We also use a Neo Oyaid USB cable to reduce the risk of bad communications to and from the Kess V2 and laptop

We use a Genuine Kess v2 master in subscription which enables us to do the latest vehicles through OBD which includes the Ford Transit Vans up to the latest Euro6 specification and now including most of the BMW F chassis series!
